Happy Birthday!!

Today is our dogs birthday. Today Boots turns 6. Ben's mom has a dog, and she had puppies and 6 years ago when we went to their house to visit, she asked if we wanted one. Ben was like a kid in a pet store, I on the other hand knew what work went into a dog, especially a puppy. Shots, vaccinations, neutering, fleas, potty training. But I agreed. Only because when we were little we had a black dog with white paws that my dad brought home and we named her Boots. And she had 4 puppies and I named them, Sunny, Raindrop, Muffin and Blackie. I was like 5 or six and my mom had 4 children to take care of and didn't have time for five dogs. So one day when my dad took us to our Grandma's, my mom took ALL of the dogs to the pound. We were so mad at her, we didn't talk to her for so long...at least a day. From that day on I said that I would only have a dog as a pet, and only if it looked like Boots.

Anyway, when we were trying to decide which puppy to take, I saw one that was all black, except his chest and paws and I told Ben that, that was the one. So our adventure began. For those of you who have pets they are just like kids. We took him to the vet and got him all vaccinated and it took me 2 months to get him fully potty trained. He is a great dog. I feel bad, because he has always been my, "baby," until Parker came along he was number 1. I just don't have time or the attention to give him. Ben and I always talk about giving him away, but we want to make sure he goes to a good home. The Pound is not an option. I am not mean like my mom!!!
Parker absolutely loves Boots and Boots loves Parker. Parker jumps, and pulls and grabs him all the time and Boots just lays there and takes it. I love hearing Parker's giggles and laughs, as he is playing with Boots, and the occasional kisses they give each other. Parker his always giving him hugs an d loves.
