So...here she is!!! Lexie Sue is one week old today!!! Where does the time go?
Last Monday my mom and I went out to eat for lunch, and on our way to pick Parker up from school I told her Lexie was going to be here at 3am. She looked at me and said, "Why 3am?" and I said, "Because today I feel different...and in 12 hours I need to be done with this!!"
She arrived at 3:05 am!!! I was pretty close:)
As I have mentioned before this pregnancy was completely different from my last...including labor and delivery. It hurt...It hurt a lot!!! contractions came hard and fast. My husband knew to keep his distance....far enough away so he wouldn't get yelled at:) but close enough if I needed him. He was fantastic through the whole thing!!!
After asking for an epidural for an hour the nurse told me it may be too late to get one. Now, I have a pretty high tolerance for pain...I am not some wimp....but it HURT...a LOT!! I looked at her and said, "I will not deliver this baby without an epidural!!" Needless to say....the Anesthesiologist was paged. An hour later I delivered a baby girl....with only 10 minutes of pushing.
The thing I loved about this delivery is that I could feel the whole thing without the pain. With Parker I was numb the whole time and couldn't feel anything. With Lexie I felt the whole amazing process take place....what a miracle it is....to have babies. It was very emotional!!! i was very happy to have my mom and Brooke with me....and like I said...Ben was amazing!!
So at 3:05am, she was born!!! She weighed 8lbs 4oz and 20 1/2 inches long.
She is perfect!!!
Proud BIG Brother!!! Finally got his Christmas wish.....3 years in the making:) He is so great with her...loves to hold her and give her love. He is a big help with changing diapers and fetching whatever I may need. And he now knows that there is enough love to go around for the BOTH of them:) We are truly blessed!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!She is gorgeous!! So grateful that all is well... It is a miracle, an amazing and wonderful miracle to have children! May God bless you and your family!
She is gorgeous! That sounds a lot like my second birth! I went drugless my first time and it was 14 hours with 4 hours of pushing. This time I got the epidural and from the time I arrived at the hospital to birth was only 6 hours! She also came and hour after the epidural. I wasn't totally numb either which was splendid! I was bummed when I couldn't make your shower! But it looks like you ladies all had a great time anyway! Congratulations to you and your family! What a happy time! Pretty sure Parker was born to be a big brother ;)
