Family Day......

Ben is teaching Parker how to ice skate......

A few weeks ago, we went to IC for a family day. It was a lot of fun!! We woke up early Saturday morning and took the hour long drive and arrived at the Coral R. Mall. Our first stop was to the Children's Museum. I heard from many friends that the museum was amazing, Parker loves the one close to home, so I thought we'd give this one a shot. He liked it.....sometimes I wonder if he would enjoy things like, the museum if he had a friend to play with.....anyway, he had mom and dad to entertain him. I was impressed, but do not need to go back.

His favorite room was the airplane room, where you climbed several steps and went down a huge slide at a pretty fast speed. (Blogger won't let me move the pictures, so they are not in order)

After the museum we did some shopping, had lunch and rode on the carousel....twice. That was his other favorite thing to do. We had lunch then headed over to the pool. It was a little chilly to swim outdoors, but when I lived in IC I remember going on field trips with the Daycare to the indoor aquatic center, so we checked it out. It was huge and we were the only ones in it for a long time, then I think 10 other people showed up. We were there for 3 hours. A part of the pool was shallow enough for Parker to stand up, and there was a gated section with a hot tub and baby pool. Ben and I had fun jumping off of the diving boards, too. Parker kept saying, "Thanks so much for bringing me to this pool!" I think he had fun:)

After swimming we headed back to the mall to do some ice skating....Well, Parker and Ben did. They were cute, and Ben was tired but was a good sport and took him anyway.

After ice cream we headed home.

Sometimes people think that they have to take a big vacation to be able to get away with the family, what I didn't realize is that there is so much to do in our area. We spent 12 hours together, had so much fun, built many memories and only had to travel 60 miles. Everything we did that day, besides the swimming we did inside the mall. AWESOME!!!!

We wanted to take him downtown IC, it is really neat down there. It is kind of like downtown here, but a lot nicer, with parks and playgrounds.....we just ran out of time....next time, though!!
