The next morning Ben woke up bright and early to run in the 7 mile race. I did not get a picture of him before and by time we saw him running it was too late:( we have to start preparing better. Parker, Lexie and I went to the store and picked up some donuts and juice and headed to Grandma and Grandpa's. They live down the street from where the runners cross, so we packed our lawn chairs and goodies and met everyone at the top of the hill. Ben did great and even beat his score from last year!!! Great JOB guys!!!
That night we headed downtown to the festivities!!! It was crazy chilly....which never happens here. The kids actually had to wear pants and a jacket. There are many vendors there and we always like to enjoy food that we don't typically eat. Last year I tried my first Gyro and had to go back again. Parker got a Kona Ice, which he went back and filled his cup multiple times with syrup. And Ben, as always was adventurous with his food and got a hot dog:) funnel cakes were also had by all.
We enjoyed the music from the live band, as well as bouncy houses and the atmosphere that the area had to offer.
I managed to get a few snapshots of the kids....I love taking pictures of them. Parker is at the age where he is not so keen on getting his picture taken, so I have to get creative with him. But Lexie loves the camera and the camera loves her. She loved watching and looking and everyone and everything around her. And as always we had lots of fun!!!
