Lotus Flowers

Last summer I took Parker see, 'Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief." and shortly after, bought it.....he watched it non-stop for about 2 weeks, then it was put away and not seen until a month ago. NOW!!! it is the movie of choice, once again. His favorite part is when Percy and his 2 friends hit Vegas to find a Pearl, so they can rescue Percy's mom from Hades....

Anyway, they arrive at a casino and are immediately waited on by 2 girls carrying a tray of 'lotus flowers'...aka delicious dessert made with a little "feel good" powder, which makes them lose track of time. Soon the kids start trippin out and the song 'Poker Face' comes on and so forth.

It's a good movie by.the.way!!! My good friend Kevin McKidd is in it AKA....Dr. Owen Hunt from Greys Anatomy.....but back to my story.

Last week I had a baby shower for a friend of mine and bought these mini-brownies with frosting on them (above picture). I saved a few for Parker....

He had a friend over a couple of days later. He said they were hungry and asked for a snack. He was in the kitchen with me and yells to his friend, "Do you want to try a lotus flower?" I asked Parker why he thought that was a lotus flower....he said, because it tastes good like Percy's LF and it makes him forget things....."Like to clean his room or wash the windows."

So...there you have it!!! My 4 year old only likes movies based on "forgetful and feel-good" desserts, offers a look-alike to his friends and his parents are slave drivers who makes him wash windows..."inside and out!!!"
