Surprises and MORE Surprises!!

A couple of weeks ago I surprised Parker and his friend and took them to the park. After playing on the swings and slide for a while they both requested that we feed the ducks. Luckily I remembered some bread. They had fun throwing the bread in the water and laughed as the ducks ate. I think Parker was a little confused on what to do, because instead of throwing the bread to the ducks he ate it. Or maybe he was just hungry! After a few minutes he got the hang of it.

We didn't stay too long! Parker's friend understood that you do not actually have to get into the water in order to feed the ducks Parker, however had his toes on the edges of the pond MOST of the time. I could not get many pictures, I was so worried he would fall in.

Last weekend we got another surprise!! Aunt Rocky came to visit for the weekend. She was on her way to Chicago for work and decided to stop by for a couple of days. We had lots and lots of fun!! We played a little Guitar Hero. My Grandma and Uncle stopped by and even joined in on the fun. You should have seen my Grandma rockin out on the drums..it was hilarious!!
Saturday Parker got a surprise!! His aunts bought him an early birthday present...a new trike!! He was so happy! We are still trying to teach him how to pedal and will cooperate for a while, then wants to do it his way...push with his feet. It works.

Later that afternoon we had a wedding to go to at the Olde St. Anne's church in Park View. There is something neat about this place. I went to a catholic school through elementary school and I remember every year going on a field trip to this place. I will try to describe it to the best of my ability.
There are about 10 different houses, shops, buildings that you can go into and explore. It looked like places where the pioneers would have lived. There was a antique shop, fire station, saloon, Barber shop, grocery store, school house, bank, they even have a train you can climb in...ect. I guess you really can't explore too much because they have metal fences up, but you can look. It is amazing to see how simple things were back then. The houses had table, chairs, stove and beds and that was it. There were no decorations, no cute things hanging on the wall. It was different...simple.
There is also a HUGE field and picnic tables...I am thinking a trip out there would be fun...
Anyway, we took a lot of pictures, but after the second one my batteries died. My sister took a bunch on hers, so I will share once I get them. It is really neat to see if you get the chance and the kids will love it even more. Parker ran, ran, ran!! He had so much fun!!

Yesterday, we got a surprise call from another friend who invited us to the family museum...or children's. We had not been there since last summer and thought about taking my camera, but since I took a hundred last year I did not think I needed to take more of the same things. OK!! I was so mad because they changed everything!! Seriously, I think the kitchen/tractor area was the only thing that was the same. I wanted to take so many pictures!! Dang it!! Next time! They played for almost 2 hours!! All four of them had a blast and I had fun talking to my friend!!
Thanks for thinking of us!!!
