We have been busy getting everything ready for our trip to Utah, for my sisters wedding....and the day finally came. My niece and her almost 1 year old picked us up and we were on our way to Chicago. The two little ones slept most of the way and we arrived at the airport without any problems. After we checked in....we were lucky enough to have a McDonald right across from where we would board our plane. The kids were thrilled. The kids kept themselves....and everyone else entertained until it was time to board the plane. We were all able to sit by each other....which made our almost 1 and 2 year olds happy....with their baby talk, laughter and high pitched squeals:) I am not sure everyone else enjoyed it though:)
Our flight was pretty smooth and took off on time....we were so excited to see our family....and Brooke and I were ready to get our kids off of the plane:)

When we arrived at my sisters apartment...my parents and other sister and her kids were already there....it was so fun to see everyone!!! and we anticipated what the next few days would bring us.
Lexie turned 2 the next day. We were so happy to be able to celebrate with the whole family!!! She loves Daniel Tiger and a friend of a friend made her cake for us. We brought her figures to put on the cake and I made the banner.....She was so excited to look at it....all she wanted to do was eat the cake!!!
We were happy to find out that they had our favorite pizza place there...Little Ceasars....so we picked up a few pretzel crust pizzas (our favorite) and had lunch with the family!!! Afterwards we sang happy birthday and ate some cake.
Then it was time to open presents. Since she got so many toys for Christmas....we asked for clothes for her birthday....and of course more pretty dresses. Her expressions were so funny....she seemed to really love everything she got.
It is hard to believe our girl is already 2. When I look back one year ago, I can't believe how far she has come. Last year she was meeting with a therapist because at 1...she was not crawling or moving ...just sitting. The doctors said she had low muscle tone....but were confident that they would be able to build her up and make her stronger. 2 months later she started crawling and by the end of June she was walking. It has taken her a little longer than most kids her age....but she no longer has to be in therapy!!!! Her vocabulary has really picked up. She is saying 2 word sentences now and at times adding a third word. She is so smart....and knows just what and who she needs to go to get what she wants. She is such a blessing to us....we love spoiling her....and she has the best big brother....who is often "annoyed" with her....just wait buddy:)
