We love May!!! it is a month long celebration. Our Parker is 6 this year!!! Holy cow how did that happen? Parker has grown up so much this last year....Most days we wonder if his ears work, and other days he is helpful and pleasant. He is always on the go and does not sit still for very long. He is a wonderful BIG brother and loves his sister very much. He is also very helpful. He is smart and always makes us laugh. His favorite color is orange and his favorite food is any thing unhealthy. He keeps us all on our toes...there is hardly a dull moment at our house.
We started the birthday celebrations off with a get together with Ben's family. We were all set to go to the Park, to eat and play when a wind storm came our way....so we moved the party to our small and cozy home:) the kids played in the backyard and we enjoyed good food. Parker asked for running shirts and shorts( he could wear them 365 days if I let him) and flip flops...from both Grandmas....which he was more than enthusiastic to get. Another request was a remote control helicopter....from Rocky, a new soccer ball, markers and candy from Aunt Jill, a Wild Kratts water bottle from Uncle Bill (His favorite:) and a bag of candy and cash from Great Aunt Lisa. He also got money from Aunt Trishia....After dinner we had homemade chocolate cake and a big cookie for dessert.

Then on the 18th....on his actual birthday, we invited Grandma and Grandpa Sas over for Parker's favorite breakfast....skinny pancakes and a donut cake. He opened his presents from us...more summer clothes, flip flips....a soccer poster and more. After breakfast....we got ready for Parker's soccer game, then went out for dinner...his choice...Olive Garden. It was nice to just relax and enjoy this day with him.
Today was his "friend" party. We started off with planning an Avengers party and ended up throwing a super creature, Wild Kratt party. Parker loves the Wild Kratts...and once again it was something that you can not find in stores....so we got creative. Google and Pintrest were our best friends. I found some good ideas and adapted some of our own. SO I made each kid a Creature Power vest and 5 creature power discs....cheetah, peregrine falcon, platypus, butterfly and kangaroo for the kids to "transform" into. I was really hoping the weather would be nice enough to have outside....but...it rained and never stopped, so we had to improvise and he had the party inside. It was cozy, but no one seemed to mind.
Kangaroo creature power...the kids pretended they were kangaroo's and they had to see who could hop the longest.
The next one was the Butterfly Creature power: The kids paired up with a partner and they had to wrap each other into a cocoon, then break free into a butterfly.
Next was the Platypus Creature power. I forgot to boil the eggs so we headed to the front porch for this one:) the kids had to carry their egg on a spoon to their friend on the other end, without dropping it. Of course we had a couple of spills.
Because of the limited space....we could not complete the cheetah or falcon creature power:( we played animal bingo and made animal masks, instead.
Then we headed indoors for a hot dog and chip lunch complete with juice. The kids had worked up and appetite.
Then it was time for gifts!!! I always enjoys seeing what other people give....I got some really cute ideas!!! One child had wrapped his gift in a paper bag and decorated it. He got a bug net and case to put them in from another friend...water gun, Lego's, Iron man, batman and a cute little Capri sun/granola bar/colors/paper cake(similar to a diaper cake) from another friend. He loves all of his friends and was so happy that some of his friends from both church and school could make it.
I know I have several pictures of cake time....but I love all of his natural expressions. He really looks happy!!!
Singing Happy Birthday!!!!
Make a wish!!! and the smoke from the candles was too much for the birthday boy:)
Although Birthday month is officially over:) we are looking forward to planning out the next bash. Love you Parker!!!
