- We are expecting a baby this winter!!! We are beyond excited about the news...although it took another 5 years to conceive, with about one year of really trying this one came along a lot smoother than the last. I have not been sick...with the exception of the smell of chicken being cooked. I am not as tired, although by 3pm I am ready for a nap. All in all things are going by pretty smooth so far.
Parker is beyond excited for his little brother or sister to arrive!!! We have been discussing names and think we have a couple of each sex nailed down...but I am not going to tell you....yet:)
- Over the 4th of July we visited my aunt and her family in Clinton. She has a pool and Parker loves to swim, so of course visits are always something he looks forward to. He usually wears a life jacket...but someone forgot it:) but he jumped in and started swimming by himself.....not too far away from the side of the pool and he always made sure he had someone to swim to. Nonetheless, we were all pretty excited!!! I guess the $25 swim lessons have paid off.
- We went to the drive-in with some of our good friends.....we arrived early so the kids could run and play. It is a great place to take the family!!! There is a huge field the kids can run and play in. They also have a swing set, sand box and FREE train rides around the field. Parker loves it!!! especially when he get to do it all with his favorite friends.
- My sister also came out to visit...we threw my mom a surprise retirement/60th birthday party....Hawaiian style, complete with all of her CLOSE family and it was a lot of
workfun!!! So, here are a few of the 50 pictures I took...
SURPRISE!!!
My dad and uncle worked down to the wire to get the Tiki Bar ready for customers....it was the highlight of the party!!
And of course...the drinks. Virgin Pina Coladas!!!
And the menu consisted of chicken wraps, fresh fruit kabobs, beans, BBQ wieners, sweet and sour meatballs and cupcakes for dessert.
- A couple of weeks ago was Bix weekend.....Parker ran in the Jr. Bix for the 3rd year in a row and did awesome and received a medal. The next day Ben and his brother ran the 7 mile race...Parker and I met Grandma and Grandpa up at the corner with our lawn chairs and watched and thousands of runners/walkers went by. It was neat to see so many people of all over the world come and participate in the race. That night we went downtown and walked around. We sat and listened to bands play, and Parker got to jump in the bouncy houses. And of course had some delicious food!!! last year I tried my very first gyro and it was amazing....this year we played it safe with funnel cakes and icee's....a few family favorites:)
- I also quit my job a few weeks ago:) one of the best decisions I have ever made. It was too hard being away from Parker to watch other people's kids...who don't seem to care much that their children are in daycare for 10-12 hours a day. And I don't like drama....I like to stay as far away as I can, so that was also a factor in my decision. I did however, get a new job....I am a Pampered Chef consultant...I know, third time is a charm:) but have lots of parties booked and a lot of friends had family supporting me....and it is fun!!! I work for a couple of hours a night and make good money.....and Parker gets to spend some quality time with dad.
So...this next one is not really a highlight...but sad news:(
- And last but not least....Eric Dane is leaving Grey's Anatomy during this season:( yes.....it is sad, sad news....with Lexie dying last season and him leaving this season, and with McDreamy not having a lot of screen time....not sure there is much to watch. I like the other characters, but come on.....so as McSteamy exits...my Thursday nights may be free for the first time in 5 years. At least I got to see him in LA:) SIGH:)
Speaking of TV....who is excited for fall Television to start? There is absolutely nothing to watch besides reruns of Criminal Minds....my new favorite show....September 10th the goodness starts with The Voice:)
