A Little Help, Please!!

Recently I have started trying to wing Parker off of baby food and onto BIG BOY foods, but it has not been easy. I do not know if it is too early, but he will be a year in a month, and I would like for him to be eating the majority of his foods off the table. So I started this task with breakfast. I tried mixing regular oatmeal in with his baby oatmeal, and the only result I got was gaging and red, watery eyes. Today I tried waffles and that went a little better, then I fed him HIS oatmeal. I have been told that it may take a while, for them to get used to the taste, textures, and such. I guess I am asking all of those SUPER, experienced mom's for help. Should I keep trying to give him the waffles first, then feed him his oatmeal? or just cut off the oatmeal and just feed him the waffles (and other foods for breakfast?) Please help me, I keep thinking that things with Parker are going to be so easy. But I have learned, that things are easier said than done sometimes!!

********* And the waffle has WON!!!(breakfast down. Just lunch and dinner to go!)
Thank You!!

Good morning, try cherrios and some soft finger food, saltine cracker, bits of banana and things that he can slobber up. He might like pancakes too. And don't give up, sometimes they will eat something one day and really dislike it the next or you will find out they can live off of the same 3 or 4 foods for months and NEVER get sick of them.

Just keep doing what you are doing...introducing something new once a week, just to make sure there are no food allergies....you will know what is best for him...

Patience, Patience, Patience. That's my best advice.
